There don't appear to be any issues with the particpants at the events thankfully. They had a minute's silence for the victims. Neil Crickmore is doing well in the 50+ section with 4.5/7. https://info64.org/european-senior-50/standings

ECU report on the completed event.

50+ Open GM Movsziszian Karen (ARM, 2502) 7/9 (ENG - Neil Crickmore and Peter Gayson finished with 5/9)

50+ (Women) WGM Strutinskaia Galina (RUS, 2286), the World Senior Champion for 2015, took the victory with 7/9

65+ (includes women) IM Renman Nils-Gustaf from Sweden finished sole first with 7.5/9, GM Gaprindashvili Nona from Georgia, former World Champion, took the women's title with 5.5/9 (ENG - Brian Hewson 5/9, Norman Hutchinson, Ivan Myall 4/9, Michael Stokes 3.5/9)

I agree some reference to the Barcelona events you would have thought would have been automatic. There was a photo on the ECU twitter feed regarding the minute's silence (scroll down to August 18) https://twitter.com/ECUonline?ref_src=t ... ess.org%2F
