I get the impression that the 2017 European Senior Team Championships are unlikely to happen or will be postponed?
They were supposed to be held during 17-25 March in Novi Sad, Serbia, but although the ECU calendar still lists the event there is no link to any website with regulations, entry form etc. The FIDE calendar still lists Novi Sad but without dates.
Last year's European Senior Teams had a very poor entry whereas the World Teams was a great success, albeit nearly all teams were European, so maybe there needs to be a rethink about the whole concept?
The World Team event in Crete only a few weeks later looks much more attractive anyway, but whether Ireland will send a team remains doubtful because of the clash of dates with Reykjavik.
