Board list 50+ is this correct?
Not according to Keith who has posted on Facebook that the rules state the highest rating performance wins. For whatever reason, Keith was awarded the bronze medal behind two Italians.

Well, the tournament was in Italy.

Congratulations to all the winning teams! What a great result. Are there pictures of any of the prize ceremonies available yet?

Mark and Keith had the added bonus that they knew they would not have to play each other! They must be getting bored by now...

Thank you, David. I missed the link from Mick yesterday (thank you, Mick).

EDIT: I always forget how tall Nigel is, until I see him next to others in photos like that!

EDIT 2: Can anyone put names to the faces in the photos? I recognise Short, Adams, Arkell, Hebden, Emms and Nunn, but am struggling with Littlewood, Stebbings, Povah, Snape (sorry!). Why no photo of the women's team?? (Jackson, Lauterbach, Fink-Nunn, Regan.)

How many Women's teams played in the Seniors over 50's Championship?
I see what Ken means here, now. Or as Leonard Barden put it:
England over-50 women were also awarded a world title despite being the only team in their category. Seeded 17th, they finished 13th and defeated male opponents from Norway and Poland.
Am I right that this meant that the England over-50 women were always going to 'win' that title? (It is impressive that they finished above their seeding.)

Thank you! I had Littlewood correct, and I have met some of the others, so shouldn't have struggled that much. Maybe it is the different clothes, or the sun-tanned appearance of some of them?

One more request, if anyone is willing and able. Leonard mentions two key wins by Adams. I think the knight and pawn ending against the USA has been posted here. Has the other game been posted (the rook and pawns one against Italy)?

In the 50+ photograph:

Chief Organiser Christina Pernici Rigo is on the far left.

Chief Arbiter Werner Stubenvoll is second from the right (dark suit, blue tie).

I don't recognise the other three people.

At least we have got two out of three. That's better than we did last time, 25 years ago.
