Good question. There doesn't seem to be a list yet on the British Championship website and there is no chess-results.com page for the tournaments yet; maybe they have yet to appoint a chief arbiter?Ken Norman wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:23 pmIs there a list of the entries for this years British Seniors Championship being held in MIlton Keyes?
Do you and Dinah intend to play? I am thinking about it but one influential family member thinks it's too risky to fly. So I probably won't.

I entered the 65+ yesterday afternoon and my name is already on the ECF website list of entrants. So far five in 65+ and two in 50+. I am impressed by the user-friendly entry and payment methods. The improved grading database interface made it easy to check information needed for the entry form.Tim Harding wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:49 pmGood question. I can drive daily to the Milton Keynes venue in half an hour, making it the most convenient BCF/ECF Congress venue for me since I lived near Bath in 1963. There I lost in the U-18 first round to Peter Jamieson (SCO) who went on to win ahead of Bill Hartston (2nd).

I shall be playing in the ACO Seniors. It might be argued that I had some duty to support the equivalent FIDE event, but this year they can't even be bothered to hold theirs.
Then there was the British event, where until recently it wasn't clear, to me at least, whether I had to jump through some online hoop to qualify. In any case, a week in Crete or a week in Milton Keynes?

That sounds almost as difficult a decision as Bermuda or Crewe for me the week after I took redundancy from the Civil ServiceNickFaulks wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 6:55 pmIn any case, a week in Crete or a week in Milton Keynes?

I see that I have played all but a couple of the 65+. which I guess is not surprising.
Good luck all.

Anyone know where the live games are being broadcast? They are on Chessbomb but it's missing the Over 50 top board

It's strange, but board 1 is missing from the over 50's every day?Reg Clucas wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 4:10 pmOn chess.com todayNick Burrows wrote: ↑Wed Oct 06, 2021 6:35 pmAnyone know where the live games are being broadcast? They are on Chessbomb but it's missing the Over 50 top board

Thanks for that info, folks. I have now updated my seniors pages and added the links to the live games, Brendan's photos and the results page.

Re: BRITISH SENIORS 2021
As no one seems to have mentioned it here we should offer the Forum's congratulations to Roger on winning the Over 65 Championship with a round to spare.
And also to Mike Waddington for his victory in the Over 50 section.

It has certainly been mentioned on the forum, even if not on this thread
