Looking at the top players in each section :-

The Over 50 has Danny Gormally, Stephen Dishman, Stephen Mannion (SCO) and Angus Dunnington (also now SCO)

In the Over 65 there's Keith Arkell, Terry Chapmon, Craig Pritchett (SCO) and Peter Varley (WLS)

In the Women's Over 50 there's Rasa Norinkeviciute (LTU) of Eastbourne

The final round later today. Danny Gormally on board 2 is very much still in with a chance to win the 50+ event, whilst Terry Chapman could medal in the 65+.

Indeed, though I doubt anyone heading into the final round with a chance to win the tournament is playing below 2100 in the event. Whilst I am sure any final round pairing would be tough, I suspect before the tournament Danny would have taken this final round scenario. Good luck to him and our other participants.

65+ won by top seed Sturua with Keith half a point off the podium

Well done Danny. Keith ground out a win in the last game, which I thought was more winning than the computer did.

And a few "old" (in a nice way!) friends were playing also. It was also good to see Nona Gaprindashvili still playing, inspirational to those of us who are not as good as they used to be, and were never as good as she was.

In the Over 50, Danny was second on tiebreak with 6.5, half a point behind the winner who had 7/9. Steve Dishman was 14th with 6.
