I played him at the Lloyds Bank Masters in 1987 in what was probably my best ever tournament. That said, he was a convincing winner against me in round 3:

Yes nice chap played Table Tennis with him during the Halsberg European Junior event of 1978-79. Event where Pia Cramling first broke through!

Sad news. Any insight as to the cause of death?
I played him in a double round event in Geneva in 1988 and it featured an instance of telepathy -

Thanks for posting that game, Lawrence. I've now added it to BritBase file of games from the 1987 Lloyds Bank Masters. I am still missing four of your games from this event, namely rd 1 (win v Gareth Haslinger), rd 2 (win v Ravi Lanka), rd 4 (draw with W Hartston) and rd 5 (win v Harandi). Any chance of sending me the scores of those games to add to the collection?

EDIT: Lawrence has kindly supplied me with the scores of three of the games mentioned in the above paragraph and they are now included in the BritBase file. The exception is the round 1 game, the score of which he doesn't have. Many thanks, Lawrence.
