Sad to see this. I first met Martin in the early 2000s when I played for South Norwood. I can’t add much to the well-written tributes above; Martin was indeed a real gentleman and a chess stalwart who gave far more to the game than he took out. RIP.

Martins funeral was today, so many people were there to remember him including about 20 of us from Surrey chess.
