Re: GM Ivan Farago
Was one of the most regular GMs on the tournament circuit in the 1970s and 80s, and still playing until very recently.

Re: GM Ivan Farago
Ivan Farago, along with Istvan Csom who died last year, were the two top boards for the Budapest Spartacus team which came to London in 1981 for a European Club Cup match against Kings Head, winning 6.5-5.5. (That was as close as anyone took them as Spartacus beat a Russian team in the semi-final and an Israeli side in the final - in those days, it was a knock-out event). I can't say I remember too much about individual members of the Hungarian team but collectively they were a nice bunch.

San news. One of the strongest players I played over the board.
