I am sorry to inform you that Correspondence Chess Master Arthur Reed passed away in hospital on Friday 19th August 2022.
Arthur had been playing correspondence chess for Hertfordshire for thirty-five years.
He gained the CCE title in 2019 and the CCM title in 2021.
His passing was reported on the English Correspondence Chess Federation website:

Is this the same Arthur Reed listed under Bourne End in the ECF rating list? Assuming so (and apologies if not) we played on opposite teams a few times in the late 1990s but never on the same board, although I can attest to his attacking style. In a match of Bourne End's fourth team against our second team, the match felt like it had barely started when I looked over at his game in time to see our reasonably strong (170ish on the old scale) board 1 capture Arthur's queen only to be checkmated next move.

Yes, although he hadn't been able to play OTB chess for several years.
