The sad news was reported on the 15th July 2022 that Slovenian International Master Janez Barle had died at the age of 70.
Janez was born on 21st March 1952 in Rijeka, Yugoslavia (Croatia).
He became an International Master in 1976 and was Slovenian Champion in 1972, 1974, 1980, 1981 and 1984.
He played in many tournaments including:
2010 London Chess Classic - FIDE Open.
Ron Banwell Masters 2001.
17th Lloyds Bank Masters - Open 1993.
European Senior Championship 2012.

Sad news. I saw a lot of Janez, an agreeable, quiet spoken gent, on the Senior tour.

In fact we were paired together, and drew, in the last round of each of the European Championship and the World Championship of 2014.
