Does anyone know if Richard was originally from Herefordshire? I played a R Symonds in a Midlands Weekend League Derbyshire CC v Herefordshire CC match in March 1970. The birth year would be about right.

He also played at and for the Wycombe & Hazlemere club for a few seasons within the past ten years, as well as for the Bucks county team in the Chiltern Cup and Fleming Trophy.
He was one of the few players to regularly play the Alekhine Defence.
