I am sorry to report that Georg Danner died on 13th November 2021 at the age of 75.
Georg was an Austrian International Master and International Correspondence Master.
He was born on 26th October 1946 in Austria, became an ICM in 1979 and IM in 1980.
Georg played for Austria in the Olympiads 1982-1988 and 1996-2006. He also played in numerous European Team Championships.

Sorry to hear that. I had an interesting draw with Georg in correspondence in the late 1970s and later we met at the 1984 FIDE olympiad; a pleasant friendly person as I vaguely recall.

I seem to recall Georg appearing on one of the late night poker programmes that were prevalent about twenty years ago.
