The sad news has been reported that Jan Callewaert died on 1st February 2022, at the age of 65.
Jan was the sponsor and organiser of the Your Next Move Grand Chess Tour in Louvren from 2016 to 2018.
He was born in the Belgian town of Wielsbeke in 1956.
Jan was the co-founder and President of the Kasparov Chess Foundation Europe and a driving force behind the European Union's endorsement for the "Chess in Education " program.
"An avid chess player, Jan was passionate about bringing the numerous benefits of chess to as many people as possible by using new technologies and by introducing business management principles to organisations."
