The sad news was reported on 28th January 2022 that French Grandmaster Gilles Miralles, died at the age of just 55.
Gilles was born in Grasse, France on 8th February 1966 and passed away in Ferney-Voltaire, France.
He won the French Junior Chess Championship in 1982 and the French Chess Championship in 1986 and 1989.
Gilles finished in third place in the French Chess Championship in 1990 and in 1997, became a Grandmaster.
Also a chess coach, he was directeur technique national of the French Chess Federation from 1992 to 1996.
He also collaborated with the magazine Echec et Mat.
