I am sorry to inform you that David McDonald passed away suddenly, at home, on Friday 7th January 2022.
David was born in 1959 and was a long-time stalwart of Giffnock Chess Club.
He gave enormous service to the club in his role as treasurer over many years.
David was a regular player in the Glasgow, Dumbarton & District and SNCL leagues.
His funeral took place at 10am on Tuesday 1st February at the Linn Crematorium. It was followed by a gathering at the Redhurst Hotel in Giffnock.
His passing was reported on 23rd January by Joe Jordan, Secretary of the Giffnock & Clarkston Chess Club.
