IM Knut Joran Helmers
I am sorry to report that Norwegian International Master Knut Joran Helmers died on 15th April 2021.
Knut was born in Oslo, Norway on the 7th February 1957.
He won the Junior National Championships in 1972, after a play-off.
Knut won the Norwegian championship in 1976 and 1977.
In 1979, Knut was awarded the IM title and in 1981 won the Nordic Championships in Reykjavik, Iceland.
He also played on top board for Norway in five Chess Olympiads 1976, 1978, 1980, 1982 and 1984.

According to a website that I use, he died as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage.

Sorry for not posting them yet as I was still coming to terms with a sudden death at a fairly young age of a club colleague and friend.
I will try to post them all this evening.
