Steve Sawaryn

I am sorry to report the recent passing of Steve Sawaryn at the age of 66.
Steve played in many congresses across Scotland, from Oban to the East Coast.
In recent years, he took over the Presidency of the North East Junior Chess Association (NEJCA) in Scotland.
Steve was also responsible for organising the Scottish Girls event at Lathallan Castle on behalf of Chess Scotland. He was also a key member of the Chess Scotland Junior Home Board.
On a personal note, Steve regularly sent me entry forms in the post for the junior and adult tournaments from the North East of Scotland including the Stonehaven Allegro.
The funeral arrangements were made available on the Scottish Chess Forum yesterday.
