With sadness I am reporting the death of Nick Harris who was champion of the Worcester City Club. He suffered a massive heart attack in mid-June. Nick moved to Worcester in 1986 having previously played for Windermere club in Cumbria.

Nick, publishing under the name Nathaniel Harris, was a prolific author with over a hundred titles to his credit on a range of historical, artistic and musical subjects that members of this forum may well have encountered.

A private funeral was held during the period of Covid lockdown and players from clubs in Worcestershire dedicated the inaugural match of the 2021-2 league season in his memory. The match report and links to further information about Nick's achievements is available on the Worcestershire CA website at:

Lovely idea to hold that match and raise the money in his memory.
