Sad news of his death today at just 56. Many GMs playing tribute on twitter.
Strong GM as he was, I think known to most of us as a key member of Kasparov's chess team.

Re: Yury Dokhoian
Thanks for informing us Paul.
Very sad news, still a fairly young age and the cause being Covid-19. He had so much left to give.
I believe he shared first place with the late Tony Miles at the Munster tournament back in 1993.
According to Wikipedia he achieved a rating of 2687 in 1989 and was number 33 in the world.
He won a number of high profile tournaments and taught Sergey Karjakin.
Still was teaching young players until recently.
Big loss to Russian chess.
RIP

"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

Garry Kasparov
"I have no insight into what comes after death, but I know that it will find Yuri Dokhoian well prepared." is a very nice line.
