I am sorry to inform you that Raimundo Garcia has died, aged 84.
He passed away on 13th October 2020.
Raimundo was born on 27th May 1936 in Argentina.
He became Argentinian Champion in 1963 and in 1964 became an International Master. His peak rating was 2368.
Raimundo played for Argentina in the Chess Olympiads of 1964, 1966, 1968 and 1972.

That underestimates Garcia - his peak was 2435 in the late 1970s.

There was a forum discussion last year on people still alive who had played Fischer competitively - he can be crossed off that list now.
