GM Miron Sher 1952-2020

I am sorry to report that Miron Sher has died.
According to various websites, he passed away on either 20th or 21st August 2020 aged 68 after a prolonged illness.
It was announced on Chess.com on 23rd August that he died in New York City, leaving a wife, WGM Alla Grinfeld and son Mikhail.
Miron was born on the 29th June 1952. He was a Soviet-born American chess player. He became an International Master in 1988 and a Grandmaster in 1992.
He won the Hastings Challengers in 1993-1994 and finished 4th in the Hastings Premier in 1994-1995 behind GMs Thomas Luther, John Nunn and Colin McNab.
Miron was the former coach of world number-two GM Fabiano Caruana, GM Robert Hess and the current second of World Champion Magnus Carlsen, GM Peter Heine Nielsen.
