David Baynes

I am sorry to inform you that David Baynes has died.
He passed away on Thursday 3rd December, after an 18- month battle with leukaemia.
It was announced on the Northumberland Chess Association website yesterday by Mick Riding.
David was a member of Gosforth Chess Club and played for them in the Northumbria Chess League.
He also regularly played in the Northumberland Chess Congress and the Chester-le-Street Summer Congress.

Remember him well from my 1980s student days in the NE.

Can't have been that old.
