Jody Heaton

Post by Simon Rogers » Thu Dec 03, 2020 2:59 pm

I am sorry to report the terrible news that Jody Heaton died on Wednesday 8th April. It was suspected that he died from a brain hemorrhage after a seizure.
Jody was just 37 years old and from West Didsbury.
He was a popular member of Eccles Chess Club and had been a member for around 12 months having joined from the Crown & Anchor in Manchester.
Jody played for Eccles in the Manchester League and in the Bolton & District Chess League Division 1.
It was announced on the Eccles Chess Club website on the 14th April along with an Obituary and picture.
In August and September the Manchester Chess Federation held a online tournament in his memory.
Condolences to his young family and friends.
RIP

Jody Heaton Cup
Jody was a player and friend who played at Manchester Social and Eccles Chess Clubs. He passed away earlier in the year and we’d like to use this tournament to remember his friendship.
