I am sorry to inform you that Norman McFarland has died.
He passed away on Tuesday 10th March.
The funeral service took place at Roselawn Crematorium, Belfast, on Monday 16th March.
Norman played for the South Belfast Chess Club and was a former member of the old Fisherwick Club in the Belfast & District Chess League.
He also won the Intermediate Ulster Chess Championship in 2014.
There is a picture of Norman receiving the trophy from Geoff Hindley on the Ulster Chess Union website.
