I am sorry to report that Maurice Kent died earlier this year, at the age of 58.
Maurice passed away on Monday 27th January in Sheffield Northern General Hospital. He had been suffering from ill health for a number of years.
Maurice was former Yorkshire Chess Association President in the early 1990s.
There was an excellent tribute posted the beginning of February by Steve Mann on the Yorkshire Chess Association website under Obituaries.
The funeral took place on 18th March at the Rose Hill Crematorium in Doncaster.
