Is there an online method to apply for a fresh ECF club code in order to submit rating data for that club?

If not, what is the correct procedure?

Thanks. Have done as suggested. I have to ask someone to do it on my behalf: is this correct?

If anybody needs a new 4 digit ECF Club Code you can also request it by emailing me at [email protected]. I normally respond the same day.

Thanks Steve: that is most helpful.

I am needing them for schools who took part in the recent massive ECF Girls event in Bramley. Since the girls played as a team representing their school it is important IMHO to get their schools into the ECF rating database. Good for them and good for the school and good for chess.

Just email me with the names of the schools and the Counties that they come under and I'll allocate codes for you.

John, Just checking that you know that you will have to manually add the club code (e.g. ClubCode=4HBS#) for all players already on the ECF rating list to the output files before submitting the output file for rating. If you don't then it will be recorded as their "Nominal Club" which in most cases is not their school. This is a Swiss Manager feature, and happens even if you have put the appropriate code in the "Group" column.

Yes indeed and I was doing this for each and every of the 344 girls playing in the Bramley event in the four or so weeks leading up to the event.

Most of the schools were known to the ECF but the event has attracted new schools unknown to the ECF and Andrew M. is much to be congratulated for this very aspect.

Bute House Prep School is one such example and the more schools that are added to the ECF rating database the better.

Especially important for a team event when the esprit de corps philosophy is brought home with much meaning.
