Rating Site on mobile phones

Post by Roger de Coverly » Sat Mar 19, 2022 11:18 am

This is the default site for looking up ECF ratings
http://www.ecfrating.org.uk/v2/new/list_players.php

On my Windows 11 laptop, the screen itself has a black background, but the input box has a white background.

On my Android phone, the input box has a black background, which makes it very difficuklt to use as you cannot see what name is being typed or mis-typed.

Suggestions?

My Android phone gives a white box
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

Have you tried clicking on the English Chess Federation logo (top left corner) to change the colour scheme to see if that makes it better?

Switching to a white background resolves the problem.

The designer(s) might need to fashion a .css file for each HTTP_USER_AGENT and force the browser to instructs its rendering engine to render content in a consistent way.
