This was working a month ago but now attempts to do this give an error saying there is a server error.
SM is looking for the file here: https://www.ecfrating.org.uk/v2/new/api ... atings_csv
Going to the relevant page on the ECF website it says this
Which suggests that SM is just looking at the wrong web address for the ENG ratings. However while "fixing" this by copying and pasting the correct address into the SM Import Ratings page does successfully download the ratings file in the program the resulting function is broken and it does not find the ENG (and ENGR) ratings for the players. Has there been a change in file format along with filename?ECF Website wrote: All Rated Players (2sec 4Mb) Revised June 2021

Personally I'm OK because a few weeks ago I successfully downloaded the June ENG files via SM and cunningly copied the two files SM creates to a backup location and can just copy them back to their proper location, restart SM and everything works just fine albeit it with ENG ratings for June rather than July. Other arbiters who haven't run a tournament for a while may not be so lucky.
Once these problems are fixed (it was all working a few weeks ago) there is another potential SNAFU arbiters need to be aware of:
If you need to update SM with the latest ECF ratings then don't leave it until the last minute. Do it a few days before and do it in the morning to avoid frustration because there is a 10 minute download limit per day.ECF Website wrote:There is a limit on the amount of processing time per day per internet class C network address. The maximum processing time is currently 10 minutes per day, reset every midnight GMT, but may be changed without notice. Processing time and limits are provided in every JSON response.
