The ECF doesn't normally say when the grades will be out though does it? They usually appear to coincide with the British Championships. I confidently expect they will be published before the next British Championships. And as there isn't any chess for which the gradings might be used, I'm sure there is very little to concern people.
Captains in the 4NCL Online League will have the option of using them.

As I feared - I was turning around my slump when the whole chess thing was called off...

I have managed a career best as well! Though 175E means that it is only based on a few games - to be precise, 16 games over the past three seasons (+6 =3 -7). Helped immensely by a win in my last game this season, on 13 February 2020 the month before lockdown started!

I am wondering when I will get to play a game OTB with this career-best grade? :?
Things have changed so much, it is not clear if that will happen any time soon.

When is the switch to the new grades happening?

I have to disagree with Mr Thurlow, the results are not all in. My games from Blackpool, not that good but 50%, are not there. Blackpool does not appear to have submitted any results.

There are always a few issues with the July list, that's why the August list is given greater weight. Corrections can be made.

It is particularly important this year since normally we get a dribble of corrections right through to December(usually things like players with duplicate codes). However we expect to turn off the Clarke system database after publishing the August list. The August list is widely used for league and congress qualification for up to a year. We need any errors and omissions reported to Matt Carr through normal channels ASAP to make that update reliable.

"I have to disagree with Mr Thurlow"

Feel free - but I can't be held responsible for results getting lost somewhere!

I'm up to a reasonable 74E. I felt like I was playing decent chess this season. Still aiming for 100.

Nicky didn't say 100 or over: a pedant like me might argue he is aiming for exactly 100, in which case, of course, he stands no chance at all!

Brian says below that they: "expect to turn off the Clarke system database after publishing the August list".

The grading database has lots of historical data that I suspect lots of people would want to still access or at least download a copy of.

Is the intention to archive and/or keep the database online and still allow online access to the data?

If not, will people be able to request copies of the data pertaining to them? (Obviously you would expect people to take copies if they need it, but they do need some warning, and I have no idea how GDPR and data access requests relate to grading databases).

The current database will be turned off and the vast majority of the data will be transferred to the new system. For obvious reasons the new system will not be built to calculate Clarke grades. Hence the need to get the data right before the August update.
