Worcs v Leics in the other semi then

Staffs being knocked out means there will be a third place playoff between the losing semi-finalists for the 3rd ECF qualification place I guess

It seems somewhat strange to lose two out of three group matches and still move forward to the quarter final of the National County Championship but I'm aware that is because we are the only Midland county wishing to do so

If it helps, it makes more sense than when Yorkshire go 0/1 in the 'qualifiers' and go through anyway :)

U160 today Warks beat G Man 9.5 to 6.5 :(

Be very complicated for the 2 ECF qualification places in the unlikely event the last match finishes G Man 9.5 to Notts 6.5

It will then be decided on Board Count in the three matches.

Which they think means that Warks are already through given their board count in their 2 matches

I think apart from the obvious, we were sunk Saturday by discovering that out lucky cafe/sandwich shop was shut and having our pre-match meal somewhere else :o

I did manage my semi-traditional (Bridge club) move losing my queen, but at least this time it was deliberate

Good to know that Staffordshire Under 120 won 7-5 in my absence on Saturday. Sets it up nicely for us to try and get through to the national stages once again.

Play-off for the third place in the ECF Minor Championship is G Man v Leics Feb 21st
Great Wood Hall, Hollington Road, Upper Tean, Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ST10 4JY

Not a venue I recognise, although close to Checkley which has been used previously

G Man new captain for the occasion is our own David Pardoe - good luck to Dave and the team

The unlikely event didn't materialise - Notts defeated G Manchester 12-4 yesterday.
