Re: U160
Neil
It is going to be very close and competitive again
One of our losses on Saturday was on time in a tough ending; I just find it so frustrating to be using digital clocks but not an incremental time control, which at least allows the players to decide the game on the board (not that it would have made any difference to the result I think) rather than the clock
Any chance of using an incremental time control when we play you in January?

Re: U160
The date of this match is to be changed to Feb 22nd because the original date is the date before the Nottingham Rapidplay (Jan 19th). We have booked Newcastle Bridge Club and this has been agreed with David Holt. I'm waiting for a confirmatory e-mail before I let the Controller know.Mick Norris wrote:Neil

I'll ask our players about the digital clocks when we play Warwickshire in December.
I agree that the competition will again be close this year.

Re: U160
Thanks Neil, would have been nice to be told by one of our lot
Have you told Ray? It isn't showing as changed on the MCCU website
We often play the day before Rapidplays, as we have so many in and around Manchester - I see the revised date is the day before Leyland, but that shouldn't present a problem
Main thing is the best venue has been booked

David and I have agreed to change to Feb 22nd but I'm waiting for an e-mail from him to confirm; Newcastle is free and I've booked the room.Mick Norris wrote:Thanks Neil, would have been nice to be told by one of our lot

I was advised that Feb 22nd was better for you than the original date. As soon as I hear I'll let Ray know - but he is away till the end of the week which is why this weekend's results aren't yet posted. By the 22nd both sides will know what they have to do to qualify (or not as the case may be).

G Man beat Notts 10 - 6 today at Newcastle under Lyme Bridge club
Half way through, I thought Notts were going to win, and the match was a lot closer than the scoreline indicates

Well done Leics on winning the MCCU title, which continues to elude G Man (we have never won the U160, and it is 10 years since we won the U150)
