خيام اگر ز باده مستى خوش باش
با ماه رخى اگر نشستى خوش باش
چون عاقبت كار جهان نيستى است
انگار كه نيستى، چو هستى خوش باش
Be happy!

I cannot. Not anything that is attributed to Khayyam is correct.

I have no reason to be happy. I even cannot be happy that I am gloomy. I posted here so I may be helped.John McKenna wrote:Nevertheless, try to be happy.

What's the difference between -
God help those who help themselves
and
God helps those who help themselves?
God help those who help themselves
and
God helps those who help themselves?

"God help ..." is essentially a prayer or request asking God to help the unfortunate subject which follows. Hence you would not say "God help those who help themselves" except as a veiled threat that "those who help themselves" are going to be in such deep trouble that they will need God's help.John McKenna wrote:What's the difference between -

"God helps those who help themselves" is a statement encouraging people who get off their backsides to try and improve their own situation rather than rely on the charity of others.
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.

Re: Anyone to help? The phone does not work
the first one is an imperative statement, due to its verb form which is in infinitive.
The second statement is a descriptive statement, as its verb form is 'simple present', usually used to report permanent truths.
Qur'an also says 'God would not change the situation of a crowd until they change the situation of themselves'.
But my problem is not one where I can help myself. I don't have the phone and my letter has no definite fate. I can publish the books without the agreement as far as the law is concerned (although haram), but the revenue is illegitimate.
I have spent months and years translating, but it's going to have no outcome. I would like to translate several book during my lifetime.
