Yeah not the genius self publicist that Jobs was, so obviously a nonentity. You know the guy who put an 'I' in front of everything was far more cleverer than the guy who wrote the first proper computer language, according to the red tops.

I still have the original white book somewhere although I haven't looked in a while, so perhaps I need to dust it off in tribute

I "acquired" my copy of Kernighan and Ritchie back in 1990. Great book, everything you need to know and no waffle. I had no idea that Ritchie was ill, does anyone know what was wrong with him? (no jokes about "the big C" please).

The New York Times says he was being treated for 'prostate cancer and heart disease'.
