PeterTurland wrote: Christmas and the incessant demand of insurance companies, that we fund their status driven brainwashing, to only think economics is about money, instead of being purely about resource management, the fact that around a fifth of our species suffers from an inadequate diet and unclean water, is an insult to science, logic and Christmas.
Perhaps a case of "better a bottle in front of me, rather than a frontal lobotomy"?

I know this is in 'Not Chess' but P. Turland mentioned two wins in passing (Wed. 20:47).
In the first 6.Nb3 seems obscure, I've no games with it. (Instead of 11... Nbd7, sharper but riskier for Peter was 11... b4!?) White went to pieces in the middlegame.
The second had more content and if, instead of 6.Bd3, Peter had tried 6.Nbd2 then Nbd7 7.Rc1 Ne4 8.Be7 Qe7 9.Bd3 follows Hebden-El Assiouti 1993 Lloyds Bank (1-0 in 69). Peter followed his own shorter, more adventurous route to victory.
