Haven't time right now to take a look, but I'm wondering if it was wise of him to tackle this subject. Didn't Tony Hancock more or less disappear down a rabbit-hole through over-thinking the nature of comedy? (But of course he wasn't as well-equipped intellectually as our Bill.)
