Re: Fb
I suspect that FB is considered far too "new fangled" for many regulars of this place.MJMcCready wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 8:54 amDoes the ecforum have its own Facebook page.
If not should be consider creating one, I'd sign up for one.
After all, the Internet is generally considered to have started on January 1st 1983
Likewise the world wide web in 1991 and Facebook on February 4th 2004.
Would you suggest a FB group for this place would be to help advertise it?

I don't know about "new fangled", but it's certainly far less user-friendly. Perhaps Facebook user groups should be encouraged to migrate to forums so they can better organise their discussions and more easily find old threads when they want to.John Upham wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 11:12 amI suspect that FB is considered far too "new fangled" for many regulars of this place.

Re: Fb
Facebook used to be great but is just a mess these days, a cesspit of the very worst of big tech gone out of control - you'd barely even see any posts on chess groups past the thousands of ads, spam, random videos the Facebook algorithms aggressively bombard you with.
Any opinions expressed will not be held to account.

Re: Fb
But if we had criminals in our midsts maybe uploads to fb could help pick them out and track them down,
And as you may know a percetage of chess clubs in the country are haunted, uploads to fb there may also help. After all, we don't want the ghost of Brian Eley seen at, say, Leighton Buzzard chess club!

No.
He cannot stand Facebook either.
But he might have to manage some of the more off topic posts that are appearing

possibly?
There are at least three moderators for this group who approve new memberships, ban fake accounts, remove spam and random videos and other remedial work.
