Any Hammer Fans Out There?

Nothing to do with King Edward I, Thames Ironworks or, indeed Jon Ludvig Hammer, I was hoping to share an interest in films from the Hammer Film Productions Ltd. company.

I'm not confining myself to the more well-known gothic style productions but films (not movies) such as

Cash on Demand (1961) and other non-horror titles.

Any interest?

I remember Hammer House of Horror TV shows in the early 80s, they were pretty good.

Yes. I met Ingrid Pitt and her last husband (Tony Rudlin), and I imagine John knows Tony managed Lotus F1 team in the Clark/Hill days.

We are attempting to select a Hammer for Saturday night.

Anyone seen Night Creatures (aka Captain Clegg) from 1962. Apparently it is one of Michael Ripper's best Hammers.

Yes, good suggestion but I suspect we have all seen it.

I'm currently targeting

Cash on Demand where there is an uncut HD version on YouTube

or

Yesterday's Enemy which I cannot find on Prime or YouTube. Mind you its not the cheeriest film of all time.

In the end the Crowthorne Chess Club film society settled on

Curse of the Werewolf from 1961 and jolly good it was too.

Michael Ripper was in fine form.

The Crowthorne Chess Club Film Society watched Cash on Demand (1961) and were all impressed.

Top performance from Peter Cushing and others.

A Hammer but not a horror.

Just watched "Lust for a Vampire" (1971) (made after "The Vampire Lovers", and before "Twins of Evil") for the first time in many years - good cast, (no Michael Ripper), typical of its era though... Mike Raven featured in it, who happened to be the father of one of my former work colleagues.

This weeks adventure was "Beware My Brethren" otherwise known as "The Fiend". Not a Hammer as such but certainly in the style of.
