Shocking indeed. After all those months without spectators at football matches you'd think anybody lucky enough to have a ticket for last night would enjoy the game rather than smuggling in a laser to point in the face of an opposition player. Very dignified response from the Danish FA I thought, who don't want to take the matter any further.

Who knows, with Blackpool? It brings back to mind that day in November 2000 when they got walloped 7-0 at Barnet, in what was then the Third Division. You'd have got long odds then on a combined bet for them to go up to the Second, and Barnet to drop to the Conference - but that's what happened at season's end!

There are no specific UK laws relating to laser pointers, however, the Health Protection Agency suggests that no laser pens more powerful than Class 2 be available for general sale, due to their potential to cause injury
