My favourite is Fairytale of New York by The Pogues.
The first one I heard as a child was Merry Christmas Everyone by Shakin' Stevens.

the best Christmas song has "additional noises by Miss Snob and Class 3C" as part of the billing.

My top three every year.

1. Slade — Merry Xmas Everybody [1973]. Noddy Holder called this perennial hit his equivalent of a pension plan.
2. The Waitresses — Christmas Wrapping [1981]. New wave, story-telling song with a happy ending. In real life the lead singer died of lung cancer aged 40.
3. Chuck Berry — Merry Christmas Baby [1958]. A slow but uplifting blues with even a Christmassy guitar solo.
