With Trump fairly certain to go in January, I was surprised to hear that Putin may also be stepping down the same month due to early onset Parkinson’s. Although the Kremlin is so far denying the quite widely reported story ...while Putin is laying the ground work this week signing an order that no ex-president can ever be prosecuted! Perhaps 12 months from now there could well be no Boris (rumours only there so far), no Trump and no Putin in power.

Well, his reasons of support for the invasion of Vietnam were about as flimsy as it gets.

I think that defined the Nobel Peace Prize. I said when Aung San Sui Kyi was offered the prize that she should decline it. It was not worthy of her.

Also Obama got it for winning an election.

The problem is that awards are subjective.

Far too many Nobel Peace Prize winners have a chequered past. I always find it quite ironic (if that's the correct use of the word!?) that someone who won the prize for their efforts towards Middle East peace also ordered the deadliest terrorist attack in Jerusalem in the twentieth century. Someone they shared the prize with paid with their life as a result of their peace efforts.

However, if you dig into most people's lives you'll find skeletons (with the exception of the extremely influential person John McKenna quoted above).
