Miles played a match Vs the Othello World Champion back in 1976, I think. One game of Chess and one game of Othello. I think it was one win each.

It is worth pointing out (IMHO) that Reversi / Othello is enjoyed by children who also enjoy chess, draughts and other strategy games.
Working with John Foley I have found the game to be popular with children in strategy games summer, Easter and Christmas camps for example.

I played Othello in the 1999 Mindsports Olympiad at Kensington Olympia and was sat next to the Japanese world champion during one game. Unfortunately, he wasn't too impressed with my position!
