Confused
Seriously good Yorkshire team for the Open final today. Adair played last year I guess but still. Rather useful opposition so we'll see if its enough.

Be surprised if Yorks don't win

SCCU 7 (8)
MCCU 4 (2)
NCCU 2 (2)
EACU 1 (1)
WECU 0 (1)
2015 Finalists in brackets.
Last year there were 4 SCCU winners, 2 NCCU and 1 MCCU. This year there are two SCCU only clashes and 1 MCCU only meeting so the SCCU will do well to equal or exceed their 2015 totals.
As a reminder here are the running totals of titles for the last five years:- SCCU 19; MCCU 8; NCCU 5; EACU 2; WECU 2
Essex must be favourite in the U180, given Lancs are weaker than the semi-final (and have 16 eligible players too
) - good luck to the 5 Manticores in the Lancs team

Well that's what the ECF are predicting.

I see Matthew Webb has beaten Bob Eames already

Easy game for Matty Webb the past couple of years
Do have to wonder what on earth Eames missed on move 24.

All the finals days charts on that website just show one of the teams, I assume it's just the format of the table.
Matthew Webb has been winning so many games like that in the last couple of years, it's very impressive. He won in a similar fashion against Gavin Wall in the Semi-Finals.

Bob Eames, accepted the Evans Gambit : played like a Tiger. The drawback of playing like a Tiger is that it increases the probability of losing as well as winning!

Two easy wins to nil now; Middlesex probably feared that something like this might happen, whilst hoping it wouldn't. It is of course possible to go two down and then recover, as Essex did v Kent in 2006, but not very realistic when you already started the match as clear underdogs.

Peter Ackley , outgraded by about 15 points and thus with an expected score of about 0.35 played like a Tiger against a Heffalump taking the game into swampish territory. Unfortunately he was crushed??

I think Peter played more like a Hedgehog or a Hippo than a Tiger...

Colin Mackenzie drew with White and never looked in any trouble against his higher rated opponent. Maybe because he played like a Heffalump?!
