Could anyone point me at a list of SCCU Individual Champions?

I've looked at the SCCU web site but have failed to locate the information.

Two such achievements, to be precise.

John U, the lists do need updating for the last couple of years. I'll try to remember to raise that at the forthcoming SCCU Council and Executive Committee Meetings.

I was mildly surprised to see that I've played at least 20 of them. Last year's was at the Thanet Open I believe.

I think Alan Merry wasn't eligible, so SCCU champion would probably be Martin Taylor (Kent), but maybe Partha Mulay (Essex) comes into the picture - I can't remember the tie-break. There's always confusion about which tie-break applies to which competition!

And one of mine (1992-93!). Even though I was a lot stronger almost thirty years ago, I still claim the title of the weakest SCCU champion.

Tim Hebbes, with a grade of 161 when he won it, might be the lowest graded. Peter Poobalasingham was only slightly higher at 169 in the same year.

Nick von Schlippe, also on that list, may hold some kind of record for the least interesting Chessgames entry, consisting as it does of no bio, no comments and one game which was a draw in fourteen moves.

It could be (or somewhere like that, Savoy?) Either that or the dress code for arbiters has been relaxed a lot since then.

I contacted Nick today and he tells me that the photograph was taken at St. Ermin's Hotel, 2, Caxton Street, Westminster at the National Schools Final in 1981. He is going to dig out the score of the game.
