I think this is Kiolbasa's first time in one of these events - and it is showing rather.

crosstable with overall GP standings

This is the final GP of 4, of which each player plays 3

The top 2 qualify for the Candidates, so that's the most significant bit here; Goryachkina is currently in 2nd, but could be overtaken by Lagno & Kosteniuk, and presumably it's possible more than 1 can overtake Jiner Zhu at the top

A draw with black against Kosteniuk today although it looked like being a full point for most of the game.

The impression I get from playing through the game is that Kiolbasa lacked confidence, unsurprisingly, and was taking lots of time checking that she didn't make another mistake, so she took the perpetual to stop the rot when short of time

Maybe she will have regained confidence a little and play a bit faster today

Reading this report is interesting
“This is a completely different tournament. At the Olympiad (she won a medal) I was playing third-board against weaker opponents and here everyone is playing for a win, pressing to the end. It’s definitely a learning experience for me” Oliwia explained pragmatically when I asked her how she was dealing with the tough tournament situation.

The exclusion of the Ukrainians means I have not followed this event as I normally would.

The changes to the women's world championship to allow both Ukrainians and Russians to play were far from ideal but at least an attempt at FIDE neutrality which they seem to have abandoned.
