Yesterday, as Black, she looked to be on the ropes in the opening... but reached an equalish ending with pawns and B & N v. B & B.

However, she made the mistake of exchanging her N for the wrong colour bishop and ended up in a same colour bishops ending with 1 pawn against 2...

Hope she does better today.

Wins for Ju, Koneru and, would you believe Cramling today. Gunina will also score a full point if she can convert her extra pawn in a rook ending against Lagno.

Ju loses, which means Koneru takes the lead if she finishes off Gunina. But Goryachkina is also in the mix, as she has absolutely trashed Kosteniuk in a Winawer.

The world championship rehearsal looking very much like a win for Ju, which would put her and Koneru level and a point and a half clear of the rest with one round to play, in which they meet. I wonder how that will go.
