Taking place 10-23 April.
Round three today. Leaders on 2/2 include Jovanka Houska (seeded 23) and Ketevan Arakhamia-Grant (43) who survived an extremely iffy position
yesterday. None of the top eighteen (1) seeds have won their first two games.

Controversy:
If you wonder why the broadcast of Gevorgyan - Cornette stopped after 23 moves: After playing 14. Rb1&16. Ra1 Gevorgyan played 24. 0-0-0!!! Apparently both players forgot that the rook has moved!

If arbiters spot an illegal move being played, or are alerted by the failure of the live transmission, aren't they supposed to intervene?

Seems not to have happened though. It would be interesting to hear from the arbiters.
There are
various other*
examples of this kind of thing happening.
22-way tie at the top
after round three.

Houska stays in the leading group with a long
win, a touch on the swindly side.

That's good; I see the top 14 qualify for the next World Cup (2020), which is the target I assume

Jovanka again loses after having had a sizeable advantage. Ketevan draws with Paetz, a French Defence that went down
this line, though not as far as 9 dxc5 Qa5.

Gaponenko has caught Kashlinskaya at the top and they play
tomorrow. I believe the 2140-rated Sila Çağlar, who survived a lost position and an Arkell Ending in her
134 moves today, has therefore guaranteed herself an IM norm.

I notice sixth seed
Deimante Cornette jacked it in after seven rounds. Possibly she never recovered from
this first round disaster.

No obvious sign of ambition in
that game, where we've got the Tarrasch French queens-off variation

Absolutely horrid
blunder at the end, and Gaponenko now leads the championship! (My pessmism about the likely amount of life in that game proved very unfounded.)
