"The minutes seem to imply some connection between Kirsan and Agon, being that Kirsan financed Agon in some manner and would now like to own it in lieu of debt repayment, or was he owning or financing it all along, despite the denials of the late Andrew Paulson?"

I have to report I today received an email from Andrew Paulson, saying,

"Hello Kevin,

Are you free at the moment? I need your help with something.

Best Regards,
Andrew Paulson"

I thought this a bit fishy, then the forum reminded me why it seemed fishy!

"Andrew is no longer with us."

I know - the bit I quoted describes him as "late". He and I may have exchanged emails at one stage.

If it helps (and it probably doesn't) I received the same email today

Where did that quote come from?

This is a relatively common piece of attempted fraud. The SCCU committee have been receiving similar emails supposedly from its President for the past three or four years. If you reply you’ll be asked to purchase something on the President’s behalf - music vouchers for instance - and to forward them on with payment coming when they next see you. Of course, you realise it’s a fraud straight away and after the first attempt you might think they’d know better, but they keep trying!

Yes, I've received [and I know I'm not alone in this] several similar emails purporting to come from Julian Clissold.

I have just learned that the ECF President is in urgent need of £2,350. Crowdfunding, anyone?

I suggest he appeals to the John Robinson rainy day Trust Fund or his sister whichever is easiest.

The former has been annexed allegedly for junior purposes. He could try running or walking round his garden and seek sponsorship?

Or his Dad, a former Chancellor of the Exchequer?

When Andrew Paulson wanted to join Azmai's ticket he ran into an absolute firestorm - that was when Danailov was the ECF favourite and Azmai the devil incarnate. How things change.
I doubt the allegations of rating fraud, taking moves back and head butting will be entirely forgotten.
I note that Azmai has been re-elected (unopposed) as ECU President and that the ECF's Malcolm Pein is on his team, so you may have been optimistic about this.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

When I commented on similar posts made by Justin on Twitter, he accused me twice of giving a "very David Sedgwick answer".

I don't know what a "very David Sedgwick answer" is and I have no great wish to know.

Accordingly I shall refrain from responding to Justin on here.

I believe that the comment was meant as a compliment.
