Congratulations to Nigel Short who finished 1st= on 7.5/9 with fellow GMs Jan Gustafsson and Francisco Vallejo Pons. Lateefah Messam-Sparks and Mark Ruston finished on 4 and Peter Darby on 3.
In the challengers Andrew Horton-Kitchlew finished in second place with 6/9, Mark McCready and David Gates scored 3.5 Nigel Johnson 2.5 whilst Martin Greenwood scored 0/2.

Lorin D’Costa played in the GM tournament and Isaac Sanders in the FM A Tournament. Lorin finished on 4.5/9 whilst Isaac finished on 7 with a 2168 rating performance gaining 34 points. This was another excellent performance by one of our most promising juniors.
11th European Seniors Championship Courmayeur 6-14 April 2011

Mihai Suba won the tournament with 7.5/9 and was crowned European Seniors Champion for 2011. Antonio Rosino scored 6.5/9 to win the Italian Seniors Title.
Ken Norman finished on 5.5/9, Oliver Jackson 5 and Dinah Norman 4.5. Ken’s only loss was against Russian GM Oleg Chernikov and he drew with the tournament Winner GM Mihai Suba and Russian WGM Elana Fatalibekova. Oliver went through the tournament without a single draw!

John Bennett, Paul Dargan and James Coleman are all playing. After seven rounds James has 3, John 2.5 and Paul 2.
