International Round-up 16/2/11
I am pleased to report that Thom Hinks-Edwards was awarded the IM title at FIDE’s first quarterly Presidential Board of 2011. He made his norms in the 1997-98 4NCL, 2004 Paris Championship and the 2005 French Team Championships. Initially it was thought that one of the norms was defective. However, Stewart Reuben, who is a member of the FIDE Qualification Commission, pointed out the relevant 1997 Regulation which had been overlooked by others on the commission.
