England were seeded 18th out of 22 teams and were represented by Craig Whitfield, James Foster, Isaac Craft and Adrian Archer-Lock.

Round 1: England 1.5 Turkmenistan 2.5 Isaac won and Adrian drew.
Round 2: Syria 2.5 England 1.5 James won and Adrian drew.
Round 3: England 3 South Africa 1. Wins for Craig, James and Adrian.
Round 4: England 0 Russia 4
Round 5: Slovenia 1 England 3 Wins for Craig, James and Adrian.
Round 6: Greece 2.5 England 1.5 James, Isaac and Adrian drew.
Round 7: England 3 Sri Lanka 1 Wins for Craig, James and Adrian.
Round 8: Turkey 2 England 2 Wins for James & Adrian.
Round 9: England 3 Turkmenistan B 1 Win for Isaac & Adrian, draws for Craig & James.
Round 10: Belarus 3.5 England 0.5 Adrian drew.

Women’s World Championship 2-25 December

Jovanka Houska plays Polish IM Iweta Rajlich rated 2446 from Poland in the first round of the 64 player knockout event for the women’s world title starting tomorrow on Saturday 4th December. The early rounds are all played over two games with tie-breaks if needed. Jovanka is seeded 34th and Iweta 31st so it promises to be a very close match. London Chess Classic 8-15 December

England’s top four players; Michael Adams, Nigel Short, Luke McShane and David Howell are joined by world champion and world number one Viswanathan Anand, world number two Magnus Carlsen, world number four Vladimir Kramnik and world number fifteen Hikaru Nakamura in an eight player all-play-all.

Alongside there will be a FIDE rated open which includes England GMs Gawain Jones, Mark Hebden, Simon Williams, Peter Wells, Danny Gormally, Neil McDonald, Aaron Summerscale and Keith Arkell and a ten player women’s all-play-all which includes England’s first female International Master Susan Lalic, 2010 Olympiad debutant and England top scorer 22 year old Sarah Hegarty, top girl at the 2010 Terafinal 18 year old Lateefah Messam-Sparks and England’s second highest rated under 21 girl player 14 year old Amy Hoare.
